Listen to #WildChild by Baby AlPaca

Wild Child

You said I was a loser, you said I was a boozer
That I’m not going anywhere, but I don’t care
What you think with your little mind, You don’t feel
Like I feel, and I’m feeling fine

I’m feeling wild child driving with a blindfold
Don’t need a hand to hold, Don’t need a hand to hold
I’ve got a wild side, maybe you should know
We’re never going home, We’re never going home

You said I was a loser, you said I was a boozer
You said that I live in fear, do I look afraid?
Standing strong, standing brave
Ready to accept my fate, ready to accept my fate

I’m feeling wild child driving with a blindfold
Don’t need a hand to hold, Don’t need a hand to hold
I’ve got a wild side, maybe you should know
We’re never going home, We’re never going home

My mom says it’s a means to an end, that I’m never gonna win but I keep on churnin
She says she’s afraid for the day when I end up dead
I love livin in the red, livin day to day, it’s my wage
Freedom, my pay

I’m feeling wild child driving with a blindfold
Don’t need a hand to hold, Don’t need a hand to hold
I’ve got a wild side, maybe you should know

We’re never going home, We’re never going home

Vaca & PBR Show July 5th

Friday morning I drove through the back roads of the Eastern shore back to Baltimore. I love riding past corn fields under perfect blue skies... and disconnecting from the real world almost completely when on vacation. We spent the week in Bethany Beach, DE & Ocean City, MD during the 4th of July week- seemed like everyone was there. 44 family members in 4 houses... hootenannies, dranks & beach time.

On Friday when I got back to Baltimore it felt like no one was around- I left the trip a bit early to get back in time for my show that night at PBR (no, not Pabst Blue Ribbon ;) "Professional Bull Riders). I was worried since it was a holiday weekend, people may not be around, but sure enough my loyal friends came out! We had SO much

fun. The show was great and everyone at PBR was amazing to us (me & the audience) - my friend/musician, Garrett joined on backing guitar, melodica on percussion - after each song asking me, "okay, what should I be on for this?"  ha I love him.

I had a moment of realization - this like I don't care what anyone thinks kind of moment. I find so often we look for, or feel like we need permission to be a certain way or do something we want to do or something that feels natural. It was a great feeling to just be onstage and after lugging equipment in, all the time spent prepping - inviting ppl, working out how to make it there - to just be in that moment singing & kind of lost in the music. Sometimes being onstage feels like permission to be bold and do things my normal self wouldn't do. and I love that .
